Our Journey to Mayah

This sweet baby girl was born on June 10, 2005. She was brought to the Shangrao Welfare Institute in Jiangxi Province and given the name Ling Guang Wei. "Ling" is a family surname meaning quick/clever. "Wei" means strong. We have always like the name Mayah and later learned that it is Hebrew for "Close to God". It seemed an especially appropriate name for her! We have given her the name Mayah Ling Wei Reuter.

The Latest News...

Here's the latest word from our agency's coordinator in China:

"FYI, the Reuter family is under reviewing at the 'Adopter's Eligibility Review Dept'(Dept I). I think CCAA will issue a 'Seeking Confirmation Letter' to the family at the end of next month."

The "Seeking Confirmation Letter" is our golden ticket to the travel approval!!! Once the letter is sent back, travel approval comes within 1-4 weeks! Maybe things aren't so bleak after all. Hmmm... April would be a good month to travel to China (Let's pray for March!)

Angela and I love monkeys too...Mayah's room is so cute. My fingers are crossed and I'm saying prayers for Mayah to be with her family. How exciting for "big Sis"--I bet she can't wait too.

Best to you,
Heather
